What are the Upcoming End Times Events?

I am God, and there is none like me, 10 declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose,’ (Isaiah 46: 9-10) ESV

But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased… And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. (Daniel 12: 4, 10) KJV

God has revealed the end of this age since the beginning of this age. Yet, He intentionally veiled the understanding of the end times prophesies. He told the ancient prophets that His end times prophecies were not for them to understand. Those words were to be sealed up because they were for a future generation. His prophecies will be unveiled for the generation that is alive at the time of the end of this age.

Throughout history, people have attempted to understand the Holy Bible’s end times prophesies. But it wasn’t for them to know because God intended those prophesies to be revealed to people who were living during the end times. As the end of this age comes near, God is making it possible for His people to understand what His ancient scribes were not allowed to understand.

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” (Hosea 4: 6)

God wants His people who are living at the end of this age to recognize the signs of the seasons so that they understand that the end of this age is near. They also need to spiritually prepare for what God has foretold is coming.

Prophesies Fulfilled

Over the past 100+ years, most of the end times prophesies have been fulfilled.

The Holy Bible describes 7 Trumpets which herald the end of this age. It also describes 7 Seals that are opened as events unfold. In addition, it describes 7 Bowls of God’s wrath poured out onto the evil of this world after the Great Tribulation is over.

At this point, it appears that the first 5 Trumpets have been sounded and the first 4 Seals have been opened. We are now in the 6th Trumpet time frame and the 5th Seal is about to be opened.

The first 5 Trumpets appear to have been sounded at various intervals during the past 100+ years:

  • The 1st Trumpet: World War 1 (1914-1918)
  • The 2nd Trumpet: World War 2 (1939-1945)
  • The 3rd Trumpet: World’s most devastating Nuclear accident (Chernobyl) (April 26, 1986)
  • The 4th Trumpet: Global Quickening (began circa 1989)
  • The 5th Trumpet: Kuwait Oil Fires (January 1991 to November 1991)

The 6th Trumpet appears to have been sounded in 1994. This Trumpet begins at the Euphrates river when 4 angels who had been in bondage were released to wage war and prepare the way for the end of this age. The 4 angels appear to correlate with the first 4 of the 7 Seals (i.e. the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse). Each of the 4 evil angels were preparing for a specific purpose and awaiting a specific time.

The first 5 Seals appear to be part of the 6th Trumpet and mark the beginning of events that will contribute to the fulfillment of the 6th Trumpet.

The first 4 Seals were opened at 7-year intervals at the end of a Shemitah cycle on the 29 of Elul.

  • The 1st Seal was opened on 9/5/1994 (29 Elul Shemitah year 5754): The United Nations (UN) began a landmark conference in which they proclaimed their plan for “the future of the world.” The UN ratified Agenda 21 on that day. That plan was eventually replaced by Agenda 2030 (the UN’s vision for how they think the world should look by 2030). The UN is  an entity (a union of kings) with the goal of ruling the world.
  • The 2nd Seal was opened on 9/17/2001 (29 Elul Shemitah year 5761): The World Trade Center and the USA Pentagon was attacked on 9/11/2001 and an Islamic jihad was announced. On 9/17/2001, instead of repenting and turning back to the Lord, USA representatives quote the words of ancient Israel at the time when it was being rebellious against God (see Isaiah 9:10). Peace was taken from the earth.
  • The 3rd Seal was opened on 9/29/2008 (29 Elul Shemitah year 5768): The Wall Street Stock Market crashed 777 points in a single day. It was the catalyst for the World Food Crisis & World Financial Crisis. Many people lost their homes and life savings. In the hardest hit areas, people could barely afford to buy a loaf of bread. Meanwhile, the wealthier peoples barely noticed any change (e.g. they continued to buy oil and wine).
  • The 4th Seal was opened on 9/13/2015 (29 Elul Shemitah year 5775): A Massive Migration of Biblical proportions began when Islam began flooding into the non-Islamic world. The world would never be the same (especially Europe). The rider of the 4th horse is given power over a fourth of the earth to kill with the sword, famine, pestilence (aka plagues, aka epidemics), and wild animals. Based on the unique photo (see: What is this Mysterious Image?), it appears that the part of this rider’s territory includes Europe.

Because the 5th Seal is not a horseman, it might not follow the same 7-year timing as the 4 Horsemen. However if it follows the 7-year cycle, the next cycle begins in September 2022.

Daniel 9: 24-27 describes a prophecy that involves 70 “sevens.” Most Biblical scholars agree that 63 of the 70 “sevens” have been fulfilled. That leaves a final 7 years remaining in that prophecy.

The prophecy of 70 “sevens” is a punishment that God declared over Israel for their disobedience. It was counted in 7-year increments. In Leviticus 26: 34-35 the Lord warned them that if they disobeyed Him and did not observe the Sabbath year (Shemitah year) He would punish them and His land would observe its Sabbath rest. God was very clear about the importance of the Shemitah cycle He ordained.

Therefore, it is extremely likely that the final 7 years will be a 7-year Shemitah cycle. The final 7 years begins with an unprecedented treaty (Daniel 9: 27). That treaty is very likely to follow an unprecedented war (such as the unprecedented war described as part of the 6th Trumpet).

Upcoming Prophecies soon to be Fulfilled

  • An unprecedented war will kill one third of mankind. This known as the 6th Trumpet war (World War 3). This war will involve an army of 200 million soldiers. (Revelation 9: 13-21)
  • There are 7 Thunders but the information about them was sealed up. One possibility is that the 7 Thunders represent 7 geographical areas that will be devastated by nuclear bombs during the unprecedented 6th Trumpet war. After the 7 Thunders sounded, the angel announces that there will be “no more delay.” The 7 Thunders appear to happen just before the final 7 years begin. (Revelation 10)
  • An unprecedented peace treaty will be established for a period of 7 years. The treaty will be between Israel and several other kings / kingdoms. People will probably believe that they have finally achieved world peace. (Daniel 9: 27) (1 Thessalonians 5: 3)
  • 10 kings / kingdoms will unite. The union of kings will establish a massive governmental entity that will become the end times Beast. (Revelation 13: 1-10)
  • A great city will be given the power to rule over the kings of the earth. The Holy Bible calls it “Mystery Babylon, the Great Prostitute, Mother of Prostitutes” because it will seduce the world into being unfaithful to God and committing abominations against Him. It is likely to include a universal religion that embraces all religions (except fundamental Judaism and Christianity). The great city is most likely to be located in Europe (e.g. Vatican City, Berlin, or the Hague). (Revelation 17).
  • The Jewish Temple will be rebuilt and the daily sacrifice will be resumed. (Daniel 9: 27)
  • Animal sacrifice will be abolished halfway through the 7-year treaty. It appears to happen 30 days before the Abomination that causes desolation is set up. It appears that this will take place about 1,230 days into the peace treaty. (Daniel 12: 11) (Daniel 9: 27)
  • The Antichrist will rise to power. He will become the mouthpiece of the end times Beast. He will come to power with the help of only a few people. He will uproot 3 of the 10 kings. The 3 present-day kingdoms that will be usurped by the Antichrist will be: a lion (e.g. Britain), a bear (e.g. Russia), and a leopard (e.g. the European Union). The Antichrist will invade the kingdom and seize it through intrigue. After a massive army is swept away before him (e.g. WW3), he will participate in the peace treaty. Halfway through the 7 years, he will violate the treaty and he will plunder the richest provinces (e.g. Europe, USA) when they least expect it. He will wage war against God’s holy people. (Daniel 7: 8, 20-21, 24-25) (Daniel 9: 27) (Daniel 11: 21-24) (Revelation 13: 5)
  • The False Prophet will perform great signs and wonders. He will deceive people into worshiping the beast and its image. Even the elect are at risk of being deceived. (Revelation 13: 11-18)
  • The 2 Witnesses will testify for 1,260 days – during the Great Tribulation. After the 1,260 days, they will be killed and their bodies will lay in the square for 3-1/2 days. The Antichrist is still in power at that time. It appears that the 2 witnesses will arrive 3-1/2 days before the Abomination that Causes Desolation is set up (as a warning that the Great Tribulation was about to begin). (Revelation 11: 1-13)
  • The Abomination that Causes Desolation will be set up at the Temple. This appears to take place 30 days after the daily sacrifice is abolished. (Daniel 9: 27) (Daniel 12: 11) (Matthew 24: 15-21)
  • The Great Tribulation begins immediately after the Abomination is set up. It will last for 42 months (1,260 days). It will be a time of distress such as the world has never known (worse than anything that has ever happened in the past) or will every happen again. (Matthew 24)
  • A remnant of Israel will be protected from Satan for the 1,260 days of Great Tribulation. (Revelation 12: 6) (Revelation 12: 14)
  • One of the 7 churches will be kept from the time of Great Tribulation. The other 6 churches will experience the Great Tribulation and God will use it to refine them like gold. (Revelation 1-3)
  • Christians will be severely persecuted. When Satan realizes that God will not allow him to completely annihilate the Jewish people, Satan will redirect his rage toward the followers of Jesus Christ. The Holy Bible (especially the KJV) will probably be outlawed. Anyone who speaks against taking the mark of the beast would be considered an enemy of the beast (e.g. labeled a religious extremist and a threat to world peace). Many Christians will be taken captive/enslaved and many will be killed with the sword. (Daniel 7: 25) (Matthew 24) (Revelation 12: 17) (Revelation 13: 5)
  • The Mark of the Beast will become required in order to buy or sell. Anyone who takes the mark of the beast or worships the beast will be condemned by God and tormented forever. (Revelation 13: 16-18) (Revelation 14: 9-11)
  • The Image of the Beast will kill anyone who refuses to bow down and worship it. This appears to be the same thing as the Abomination that causes desolation. (Revelation 13: 14-15) (Daniel 9: 27) (Matthew 24: 15-21)
  • The Wrath of God will be poured out onto the world after the Great Tribulation. This is referred to as the 7 Golden Bowls. The Day of the Lord is part of the 7th Golden Bowl.  (Daniel 12: 11) (Revelation 16)
  • The 144,000 Witnesses are sealed just before God’s wrath is poured out onto the world. They are 12,000 Jews from each of the 12 tribes of Israel. During the time of God’s wrath they will testify about Jesus Christ. They will prepare the Jewish people to recognize their long-awaited Messiah when He arrives with power and great glory to save them at the battle of Armageddon. (Revelation 7: 1-8) (Revelation 14: 1-5)
  • The great city “Mystery Babylon” will be destroyed. This takes place at the end of the Great Tribulation. The city is destroyed and left desolate in a single day. Kings, merchants, and sailors will lament its destruction because of the wealth it offered them. Before allowing the Beast to destroy the city, God will call His people out of the city. (Revelation 18 & 19)
  • The Rapture & the Marriage supper of the Lamb appears to takes place after the Great Tribulation and before the battle of Armageddon. This is when Jesus Christ (the Lamb) gathers His elect (His bride). (Revelation 19)
  • The Battle of Armageddon takes place near the end of the time of God’s wrath. At that time, Jesus Christ arrives in power and great glory with the armies of heaven and saves the Jewish remnant from complete annihilation. (Revelation 16)
  • The Antichrist’s armies will be destroyed. Jesus Christ completely destroys the armies that came against the remnant of Jews in the battle of Armageddon. (Revelation 19: 21) (Revelation 14: 20)
  • The Antichrist & False Prophet will be judged and cast alive into the lake of fire. They will be tormented for all eternity. (Revelation 19: 20)
  • Satan will be bound for 1,000 years. (Revelation 20: 1-3)
  • Some nations will be allowed to live for a while longer but they will be stripped of their authority (e.g. the lion, bear, leopard). (Daniel 7: 12).
  • The Jewish people will recognize their Messiah: Jesus Christ. (Daniel 12: 12) (Zechariah 12: 9-11) (Isaiah 53: 1) (Isaiah 6: 9-10) (John 12: 37-41) (Luke 19: 41-44) (Matthew 23: 37-39) (Romans 11: 25-27) (Isaiah 35: 5)
  • Jesus Christ rules over the earth for 1,000 years. (Zechariah 14: 9) (Revelation 11: 15) (Revelation 19: 14-16) (Daniel 7: 11-14) (Zechariah 14: 16-17) (Philippians 2: 9-11) (Revelation 20: 4-6) (Isaiah 65: 19-20)
  • Israel will be burying the dead for 7 months. This refers to cleaning up the land after the Antichrist’s armies were killed at the battle of Armageddon. (Ezekiel 39: 12)
  • The Jewish Temple will be re-consecrated 2,300 days after sacrifice had been abolished. This appears to happen 965 days after the battle of Armageddon (2,300 – 1,335 = 965)  which is also 1,010 days after daily sacrifice was abolished. (Daniel 8: 13-14)
  • Satan will be released after 1,000 years. He will again gather various nations and attempt to wage a war against Jesus Christ. Satan will lose and he will be permanently cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20: 7-9) (Revelation 20: 10).
  • Final Judgment: the Great White Throne. People will be judged based on what is written in the book. Anyone whose name is not in the Lamb’s book of life will be cast into the lake of fire. God’s holy people who were gathered / raptured before Armageddon are exempt from that time of judgment. (Revelation 20: 11-15) (Matthew 12: 36-37) (Matthew 13) (1 Peter 4: 5) (Romans 14: 12)
  • New Heaven & New Earth & New Jerusalem. This is the eternity that believers await. It is not about indulging in the lusts of the flesh. It is about being in our wonderful Lord’s presence for all eternity. He has prepared a place for us. For those who are with the Lord, there will be no more pain, tears, or suffering. (Revelation 21 & 22)

Encouragement for Jews & Christians

While God’s holy people are called to know the signs of the times and to prepare for what is coming, we do not have to be afraid. If we remain faithful, God will help us through whatever the future holds.

29 But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul. 30 When you are in tribulation, and all these things come upon you in the latter days, you will return to the Lord your God and obey his voice. (Deuteronomy 4: 29-30) ESV

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed. (2 Peter 3: 9-10) ESV

15 See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone. 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise prophecies, 21 but test everything; hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil. 23 Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it. (1 Thessalonians 5: 15-24) ESV

19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I  [Jesus Christ] have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28: 19-20) ESV
